For your Maine Coon, a scratching post from Petrebels

Maine Coons, also known as gentle giants, are large and relatively heavy cats. It’s not uncommon for them to weigh up to 10 kilograms. From head to tail, Maine Coons can reach a length of up to 120 centimeters. Therefore, special requirements are placed on a scratching post for Maine Coons. Many commercially available scratching posts are not suitable for cats of such dimensions. Petrebels has taken on the challenges of giant cats and does many things differently or even better in the production of its scratching posts.

Extra thick and robust materials for a Maine Coon scratching post from Petrebels

A cat scratching post that an adult Maine Coon climbs and jumps on must be very robust and stable. The extra thick base plates we use are heavy and provide a stable foundation. With a thickness of 2 to 5 centimeters, they are thicker than most floorboards from other manufacturers.

The weight of large cats is also taken into account in the production of Petrebels. Platforms and hammocks of a Petrebels cat tree must withstand cats weighing up to 10 kilograms. When the cat jumps on them, the platforms should not wobble.

For our scratching posts, Petrebels uses sturdy trunks with a diameter of 15 or 20 centimeters. They are firmly attached to the base plate with multiple screws and can withstand even the most energetic house cat.
